² according to the foreknowledge^(A) of God the Father and set apart by the Spirit^(B) for obedience^(C) and for sprinkling with the blood^(D) of Jesus Christ.

A Living Hope

³ Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.^(E) According to His great mercy,^(F) He has given us a new birth^(G) into a living hope^(H) through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead^{(I) 4} and into an inheritance that is imperishable,^(J) uncorrupted, and unfading, kept in heaven^(K) for you.
